Appointments
Our office begins seeing babies as soon as they have teeth, or earlier if there is an oral concern such as a tongue tie. We provide dental care for children through age 18; however, new patients are accepted only up to age 10. For children under the age of 18, a parent (or relative/caregiver over the age of 18 with written permission from a parent) must be present for every appointment. Parent or legal guardian MUST be present for the child’s first visit at our office. We will be unable to see your child for their first visit if a parent or legal guardian is not present. You or the permitted adult must remain in the dental office throughout the entirety of your child’s dental procedure. If a parent cannot be present for the appointment, please contact our office ahead of time so we may obtain any verbal or written consent that may be necessary.
A parent/guardian is permitted back to the hygiene bay or private room with their young child during cleaning appointments. However, for routine cleanings for older children and those familiar and comfortable with our office, we encourage parents to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the waiting room while your kid is being treated. If parents do decide to accompany their child to the hygiene bay or private room, please allow Dr. Erin, Dr. Leah and their dental team to be the focus of your child’s attention, just as caring for your child will be our primary focus.
Parent/guardian is not allowed into the private room during dental treatment (fillings, caps, etc.). We need to be able to fully focus on your child and vice versa. Feel free to ask any questions before or after the procedure, and know that we are specialists at this…your child is in great hands!
